The ACLU’s Freedom To Be campaign centers trans people and their families across the country, capturing moments of joy, tenderness, and everyday life. Grounded in the belief that everyone deserves the freedom to shape their own families, bodies, and futures, the work reframes a political fight as a deeply human story. Studio Mosaic started this work with a guiding question: How do you make a campaign about family and resilience?

 Our answer was to focus on humanity — documenting real people as they are, emphasizing connection, warmth, and lived experience. By spotlighting joy and care, the campaign made resilience visible not as defiance alone, but as love in action.
