Applied Social Media Lab
We began our work with the Applied Social Media Lab at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center with a guiding question: How do you create an identity for a lab working to make the internet more human? The answer was to acknowledge both sides of social media’s legacy: its power to connect across distance and difference, and the systems that have fractured that promise. The result is an identity that reflects social media’s original potential for meaningful connection and positions the Lab as a place of active collaboration: where open-source tools, policy, research, and practice come together to build a lasting community — and a better internet — together.
